Your Swimmer Deserves Every Advantage
College prospects are club team swimmers because club teams offer both long course and short course. Since colleges require recorded times in all events, club team swimming ensures your athlete will not have any gaps.
Wasatch Water Dragons is focused on developing motivated athletes so they can succeed in a competitive environment. They learn technical skills from an officially recognized Triple Crown Channel swimmer giving them an edge over other athletes. Sometimes they will go beyond what they dreamed possible. Other times they will miss the mark and those moments will teach them resiliency. Our committed staff of coaches along with parent volunteers will be supporting them regardless of outcome giving them experiences and memories to carry them through life. We promote the success of the team by developing a safe, supportive, and educational environment for ALL athletes.
FAQ'S
When is swim season?
Year round although it is split into three different swim seasons for WWD.
1. Spring: April & May (Short Course)
2. Summer: June – September (Long Course)
3. Winter: October – March (Short Course)
When are swim meets?
Swim meets occur on different days depending on the season.
1. Spring: We do not compete in any meets; this is an opportunity for swimmers to come work as a team and practice strokes.
2. Summer: Most meets are on Saturdays. Sometimes we have a local evening dual meet against another local swim club. These tend to be scheduled for Wednesdays or Fridays.
3. Winter season: Meets are exclusively on weekends (mostly Saturdays).
There are championship meets in both summer and winter that are 3-5 days long, either Wed-Sat or Thurs-Sun.
When are swim practices?
This also depends on the season. School year practices are in the evenings. Summer practices are in the mornings. The number of practices and exact times depend on the age and skill level of your child. You can view our general practice schedule under Resources.
Does my child have to know how to swim already?
We require all children signing up to be able to comfortably swim 50 yards of the following: freestyle, breaststroke, and backstroke. If your child is not quite there yet, let us know. There are great local swim schools we can refer you to. We love love new swimmers! Even at older ages.
How much does it cost?
Fees vary depending on the season (Winter, Spring, or Summer). Costs are generally driven by pool rental and coaching. WWD is a for-profit swim club but operates efficiently on a very small margin. Depending on the age of the swimmer and season, Please contact us for current rates.
USA annual fees!
